WEEKLY FISHING REPORT

CENTRAL
BASTROP: Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/blue and chartreuse/white soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON: Water clear; 59 degrees; 0.37 high. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps. Hybrid striper are good trolling Rat-L-Traps. White bass are good trolling Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows in 15 20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
BROWNWOOD: Water clear to stained; 60 degrees; 1.70 low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/black jigs, small crankbaits, and watermelon red 4 worms over brush piles in 10 20 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Lil Fishies and watermelon red crankbaits under lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Lil Fishies and minnows over brush piles in 10 20 feet. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait, minnows and shrimp in 10 20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
BUCHANAN: Water clear; 58 degrees; 2.25 low. Black bass are good on black Curb's hair jigs, watermelon red JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, and suspending crankbaits over deeper rock piles along ledges and points in 8 20 feet. Striped bass are good drifting live shad, and jigging Spoiler Shad swim baits and Pirk Minnows near Garrett Island in 28 40 feet. White bass are slow to fair jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows. Crappie are slow on live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
CANYON LAKE: Water gin clear; 61 degrees; 0.01 high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigged Red Shad worms, pumpkin JDC drop shot worms, and tubes on jigheads in stickups in 6 15 feet. Striped bass are fair jigging Pirk Minnows and trolling Gizz 4s or Shad Raps on down riggers over humps in the lower end of the lake in 40 60 feet. White bass are fair but small on blade baits along main lake bluffs. Smallmouth bass are very good on Tomato Red JDC grubs, smoke/red flake tubes on jigheads, and smoke drop shot worms along main lake points and bluff ledges. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
COLEMAN: Water clear; 60 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon Rat-L-Traps and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and white striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water murky. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers, stinkbait, and shrimp in deep holes.
FAYETTE: Water clear; 62 degrees. Black bass are fair on Carolina rigged soft plastics in 14 20 feet on points. Channel and blue catfish are slow.
GRANBURY: Water clear; 1.31 low. Black bass are good on watermelon red/blue flake soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, and liver.
GRANGER: Water murky; 51 degrees; 0.23 high. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on orange and yellow marabou tube jigs in 12 18 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shad and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
LBJ: Water stained; 60 degrees; 0.20 low. Black bass are fair to good on black/blue Curb's jigs and green pumpkin tubes on docks. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair to good on silver Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shads in the channel near the power plant. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles under heated docks. Channel catfish are fair on minnows and nightcrawlers. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 65 degrees; 0.44 high. Black bass are fair on June bug and red flake Carolina rigged soft plastics. White bass are fair on minnows in the mouth of the river. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, minnows, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
TRAVIS: Water clear; 66 degrees; 0.40 low. Black bass are good on lavender shad crankbaits, black worms, and smoke grubs in 10 25 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and chrome spoons in 30 45 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs in 15 28 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and cut bait in 25 40 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 61 degrees. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are excellent on nightcrawlers. White bass are excellent on nightcrawlers. Crappie are fair on minnows and small red worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
WHITNEY: Water lightly stained; 6.03 low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on frozen shrimp, nightcrawlers, and stinkbait.
SOUTH
AMISTAD: Water clear; 64 degrees; 7.41 low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, and some topwaters. Striped bass are good on slabs and large redfins. White bass are good on slabs and small crankbaits. Catfish are good on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers in 40 80 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
BRAUNIG: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, dark soft plastic worms, and minnows in the reeds and near the dam. Striped bass to 4 pounds are good on liver and shad, and on spoons in deeper water. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, and silver spoons, and on tilapia, crawfish, perch, and shad near Dead Tree Point. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, perch, and shad in 20 30 feet.
CALAVERAS: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass to 8 pounds are good on dark soft plastic worms, live minnows, and crankbaits around reed beds and near the dam. Striped bass are good on Rat-L-Traps near the dam in 15 20 feet, and on chicken livers and shad along the shoreline. Redfish to15 pounds are fair on live perch, shad, tilapia, and crawfish. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. Blue catfish are good on liver and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.
CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 61 degrees; 0.91 low. Black bass are good on heavy jigs and large soft plastic lizards in the grass, and fair on crankbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow but some large ones caught on minnows. Drum are fair on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait in 2 10 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 66 degrees (77 degrees at discharge); 0.41 low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 8 pounds are good on live perch and bloodbait in 12 15 feet. Yellow catfish to 34 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live perch in 12 15 feet.
FALCON: Water stained; 63 degrees. Black bass are good but spotty on white and white/chartreuse spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on frozen shrimp and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses and boat permits are required to fish in Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican Fishing License whether fishing or not.
