Texas’ Own To Entertain at Toyota Texas Bass Classic
Robert Earl Keen to Perform on Sunday, April 20
Houston, Texas – Country music singer and songwriter Robert Earl Keen will be the featured performer at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Sunday, April 20, following the conclusion of the Tournament. Keen will be joined by fellow Texans Kacey Musgraves and Roger Creager during the two days of weekend concerts at Lake Fork. The Toyota Texas Bass Classic, a Professional Anglers Association sanctioned event being held April 18 – 20, is a unique team fishing competition complete with live entertainment, family fun zones and expo areas.
“This is another tremendous announcement for our event,” said Tournament Director Lenny Francoeur. “These three artists have a down-home Texas flare that fans will be very familiar with.”
The three-day fishing Tournament at famed Lake Fork in East Texas will consist of concerts on April 19 and 20. Country music superstar Trace Adkins has already been announced as the headlining entertainment act for Saturday, April 19. Nearby Golden, Texas native Kacey Musgraves will also perform on Saturday while Texans Roger Creager and Robert Earl Keen will entertain the crowds on Sunday, April 20.
Keen, a resident of Kerrville, Texas, will liven up the crowd with his traditional country and folk music songs. Keen has 23 years of entertainment experience, across 14 albums and 3 labels, and is considered to be one of traditional country’s all-time greats.
Hometown favorite Kacey Musgraves will return to the Toyota Texas Bass Classic for the second straight year. The southern belle launched her career as a finalist on USA Network’s hit series Nashville Star, country music’s equivalent of American Idol. Musgraves was recently nominated by the Texas Music Awards for “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for her song “Next Time.”
Texans have always followed Houston native Roger Creager, even before his career and distinctive style caught on elsewhere. Named 2001 Entertainer of the Year at the Texas Music Awards, many Texans are familiar with his high-energy performances and loyal following.
Three-day passes, valid Friday, April 18 through Sunday, April 20, can be purchased for $20 in advance of the Tournament, or $25 at the gate. The Tournament pass includes admission to all concerts and parking on-site.
The concerts will be held in a natural amphitheater area along Lake Fork with open lawn seating. Blankets and soft-back chairs or stools with no arms are allowed onto the concert site. Lawn chairs, coolers, cameras, duffels and backpacks are not allowed into the Tournament. All bags are subject to being checked.
The Toyota Texas Bass Classic is sanctioned by the Professional Anglers Association with technical assistance and support from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries Division. The Toyota Texas Bass Classic benefits the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and its outdoor recreation programs. Title sponsor for the event is Toyota.
