I think it is ok. We are seeing more and more studies that show that even a relative few successful nests during a spawn can be more than enough to sustain a lake's healthy bass population.
The primary the role of the female is to drop the eggs. From then on, the male protects the nest. Even he starts to turn on them after the fry stage. I think this is nature's way of weeding out the slow, weak ones. Plus it gives the male some life-saving sustenance after guarding the nest for long periods of time with his life. Really cool stuff.....if you are a bass geek like me.
Anyways, if "fun" fishing a quick pic and some measurements and back to bed for momma, but if tourney fishing she will take a little ride first.
