I don't think the Jesus one is bad, it's from the song- but nobody who's not a rugby player would know what it meant.

I found this quote from Shakespeare's Henry V on another rugby website, it's kinda highbrow-

"Whoso sheds his blood with me on this field shall be my brother"

Also, Joe Theismann's (football player) famous quote- "Rugby is great. The players don't wear helmets or padding; they just beat the living daylights out of each other and then go for a beer. I love that!"
