Okay ladies, I apologize in advance for the length of this message but there are a few things I wanted everyone to be aware of as we get ready to start back up.
Practices will begin on Tuesday the 25th, 7-9pm on the strom field(Every T/TH). Conditioning will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday at strom at 7pm. I would like for everyone to be sure to attend at least 2 (hopefully 3/4) of these get-togethers every week.
Dues will be due by the first game on September 12th. It will be $45 for CIPP, which can be done on your own or at a designated time as a group, plus $45 for the club. This is a total of $90 for the semester, which is a very reasonable sum in comparison to other clubs and for the amount of activities we will be participating in.
The second week of practices we will have elections, so start thinking about whether or not you want to be a part of that. This year I"m hoping to have a Social, Campus Public Relations, and Community Public Relations Chair in addition to the Pres, Vice, Treasurer, and Secretary. More on what they all involve will be discussed later.
We are signed up to have a table at the Campus Rec Sports fair on August 19th from 3-6pm. I will need people to help work this with me, including someone to do a little artwork for a sign. The organization fair is on Wednesday, September 2nd and I will need people to work that afternoon as well.
If everyone could email me their schedules I would really appreciate it. It will make planning much more convenient if I know in advance the relative availability of everyone. (sharkeyrugby@gmail.com)
For the Fall season we have three main objectives; to get in shape for spring, to recruit our asses off, and to make some MONIES!!!! I have a few things that are set in motion for the season to help with all of this, but it really comes down to you guys being willing to get out there and work on it.
The schedule is as follows:
September 12th: Home vs. MTSU
September 26th: Home vs. Columbia & WCU
October 3rd: Rucktoberfest @ App St.
October 17th: Away @ UNC-Charlotte
October 24th: SEC @ Birmingham
October 31st: Alumni Weekend
November 7th: Parents Weekend
Mark the dates on your calendar ladies, it should be a pretty exciting season. And you'll be happy to know that we are still open to attend most all of the home football games!
Alright, I'm pretty sure that's everything. If you have any questions or concerns related to any aspect of the season (i.e. schedule, money, time, beer, boys, books) call or email me and I will be more than happy to chat with you. I miss you all and can't wait to see you! P.S. Hogan and I are having a party Tuesday before classes (facebook event to follow*Hogan*) and want all of you to be there!!!!! :D
