RM3 MacKay aka Sugerbear on my ball cap. Aboard mid to late 71 til early 72. Just looked thru the photos and read some of the postings. Aboard sister ship in the Sqd 1166 late 70 also. If you haven't yet check out the great photos of the LST 1166 site. Bring back some remarkable memories of 'Market time' and "Solid Anchor' duty. Dropping off Marines on Okinawa and riding out a typhoon in Hong Kong harbor while hooked up to a huge buoy and underway watch. Coming aboard from saigon on the CH47 mail run.
