Now I am 60 years old and have regrets. At the time I was aboard lst 1167 I was 17 years old and very much influenced by the women and alcohol in every port. 17 years old was a very rough time for me. We all make mistakes. Since I left the Navy in the 60's I joined the USN Reserve for six years and the Army National Guard for one year on a special program trying to make up for my wrong doing as a youth.
