Hey Paul,
The one I grow with tentative ID is japonica. Looks like a semp in winter and the leaves inflate to look almost like a small aloe or reddish sedum burrows tail. Little rough to describe and I can't seem to do the pics from my G5 here at work. Your spinosum looks familiar. May have seen it in the Lowes or Home Depot shelves?
