Horst, your rostrata x rigida gives me hope that my rostrata will come back from the roots this year... It was top killed and I really hope it comes back!
This year and years past the following have come back from the roots: Y. thompsoniana, Y. recurvfolia, Y. glorisa variegata, Y. glauca, Y. filamentosa, and Y. torreyi (subsequent winter finally finished it off)!
Not a great way to grow plants, hopefully the new growth handles cold better...
