I finally planted this little 3 gallon potted Y.Torreyi that I purchased from YUCCADO 2 years ago. In the past, Home Depot Stores sold 4-6 foot
(1.2m - 1.8m )
specimens of T.torreyi and Y.treculeana for $74.00 and Ive planted them through the years but never really knew how to protect them correctly.
The last tall Torreyi I planted a few years ago had a rotted crown by spring and it was planted beneath an under hang of the roof and I did an autopsy on it and the inside trunk was hollow. I dug it up and it bloomed in the house but died. It had a few pups come up from the root system left outside but they eventually died to neglect. Id like to get this yucca through. Any ideas on how to get a Torreyi through a wet and cold winter for about 5 months of the year. LOL
