We would never have the wonderful hybrids and the amazing research and development in this area of Botany if it were not for the yucca blooming and the incredible researchers like those who post here.
I really respect and admire and truly appreciate these fine men. I know you do also , very much.
but..
JIM ...in my yard , I HATE THE BLOOMS.
It stops growth, it multi-heads the yucca and looks like crap after 1/2 the blooms fall.
Im a very singular,columnar yucca guy myself.
My desire in life is to find a yucca that does not branch, trunks nicely and will live in my crappy wet winter climate.
Elata is the only tried and true western trunker that can live here. Im glad Im not alone also..lol.
Im also glad that Elata has never bloomed.
It has a huge head and 4 feet of trunk and is 7 years old coming from a 5 gallon planting
