Maybe the nursery is wrong. It could just be a Agave stricta that has been growing like that for a while. All the lower leaves have been cut back to the trunk and peeled off. I bought one from Yucca-do many years ago. It was sold as a nana I don't think it is. Anyway, though longer, the leaves look a lot like the plant in your photo.
