dasylirions

both of these Dasylirions died pretty early for me. The one sent to me as 'wheeleri' is not the real thing. I thought it may have been some sort of green form but it died far too early in the season to be a wheeleri. Both of these forms probably can take 20F or so in my climate (excess moisture year round). The longissium in the photo has a new name....I can't remember what the new name is but I believe it's one of the ones in your photos. I tried a real 5gal D. wheeleri back in 2004/5 and it died it's first winter too. I don't think they can tolerate all our cold/wet.
Here's the green 'wheeleri' under snow in Dec 2003.
