paul, most of our "winter" weather usually turns out to be just a cold rain. sometimes we experience an ice storm. just to the north and higher in the mountains snow is more common. i think what really does damage is constantly being wet for days at a time. we also have milder spells alternating with cold snaps, just not nearly as cold for as long as you experience. as for the rain wouldn`t it be fantastic if we could collect and ship all the excess rain to california or other drought-stricken areas!
