regarding the leaf color.....I notice plants loose their blue color when I grow them up in my area......perhaps due to lack of sun strength? I'm not sure how hardy 'sapphire blue skies' is. I've never tried that form. There are many forms of Y. rostrata....some seem to be mixed with rigida, thompsoniana and linearifolia. These forms may have variations in hardiness. I would think the form which has rigida type traits would be the least hardy. Large linearifolia specimens have not been tested in my area. I killed some smaller linearifolia plants as they did not survive their first winter but young thompsonianas won't survive here either. |
