Today I went to try and hybridize a filamentosa wih a rupicola and picked some filamentosa flowers to put its pollen into the rupicola. When I peeled back the leaves to get to the pollen I noticed little white moths inside. I looked up yucca moths and saw pictures of the same moths in my yucca flowers. Then I went around to some other yuccas that are flowering and it looks like I'l have some seeds this year. I've been in this house for 9 summers and have never had any yucca set seed. I wonder where they came from? I used to get them in my old house, but hadn't had them for many years before we moved. |
