Charles, there is a walmart nearby z7a cold, that has several planted at their entrance. They are getting huge. Sorry I dont have a pic. I have one also from the same Mom and Pop nursery they got theirs from. I live in high z6b/mostly z7a cold. I planted it next to a rose bush and of course the rose bush has made it an understory but it has done great here unfortunately I moved it recently and planted it next to a small Elata and 'seasonal' sago and its showing signs of distress. I hope it doesnt die on me. A good drainage / berm - protection from ice and snow (will help) during winter events and perhaps some mulch (kept dry in winter events) should be a good start if you try one. Good luck Here is 'not so good partial recent pic of it, to the right of the little sago. Elata pup to the left. |
