Hi everyone, It's been a few years since I have been on here but I'm still every bit a yucca fan lol. I purchased some seeds last night from rarepalmseeds.com of hybrid yuccas. They have Y elate x filamentosa and Y filamentosa x elate. It's basically the same hybrids but with elate and filamentosa being the mother and pollin donor of each. I ended up purchasing 20 seeds of each of the two types. i expect them to be all slightly different because it is a hybrid but does it matter who is mother and who is the pollin doner? Do you think I basically just bought 40 seeds of the same thing? I remember Rob in Massachusetts has beautiful one of this hybrid. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can get one that looks like elate (tree) with the cold/moisture tolerance of filamentosa 😊 |
