Thanks for the seeds you sent me Tim. I have tons of seedlings 😊 have you experimented to see how long the pollen will last and stay viable? I was thinking it might be possible to store it in a cold dry place and pollinate glauca next year with pollen from this year. Do you think that's possible? Was your "big mamma" from an elata mother or pollen donor? You said before that the plants tend to take on more traits from the pollen donor. I planted twenty seeds each (they gave extra so more like 30 each) from both elata x filamentosa and filamentosa x elata. It's so strange that they have the same parents and yet seem so different. One (can't remember which one) has much larger seeds than the other. The elata x filamentosa has already sprouted 17 seedlings and the filamentosa x elata is only two seedlings so far. I planted them about two or three weeks ago so hopefully more to come. Let me know if you want any of those seedlings 😊 |
