17 YEARS of TROPICAL AND DESERT PLANTS

I'm struggling to identify the species of yucca which I recently purchased. It has dark green leaves with a red edge around 10-12" long and 3/4" wide which grow straight out of the soil. It also has a conical lighter green fleshy 'trunk' in the centre (I don't know what else to call it but the leaves don't grow out of it just around it).

Tropical or hardy? Evergreen? Photo would be most helpful.

A photo would help. Are you sure it's a Yucca? May be a Agave?
