17 YEARS of TROPICAL AND DESERT PLANTS
Y. recurvifolia x karlsruhensis
Posted by Eckhard on August 7, 2017, 2:24 pm
Hi all, after blooming this year the Y. recurvifolia x karlsruhensis first was sending a dozen offshoots so I thought it might become a clumping Yucca. Yesterday I saw a small shoot besides the old flower stalk. Will she become trunk forming? Hopefully the Y. recurvifolia genes will dominate in this matter. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Cannot add pictures as the upload always fails. Eckhard

I'm glad to hear your recurvifolia x karlsruhensis is forming a trunk. It's always nice getting new trunking Yuccas.

Hi Tim, yes, I'm also happy. It's the second hybrid forming a trunk. Last year the Y. filamentosa x rostrata from Thomas was blooming and started to form a trunk. Tried to post a picture but no chance, I can load the picture but then tinypic says the picture has been moved or removed..... Eckhard
