I added security film mainly to prevent glass from scattering in case of accidents, especially since the windows in my workshop area take a bit of abuse. The film didn’t change the temperature or block noise in a huge way, but it did keep the pane intact when a tool slipped off a shelf and hit the window. It’s a small improvement, but one that makes maintenance a little easier and accidents far less stressful.
