Yes the original paperwork for Forest to be incorporated had the 2 R's. But Forest was so named because it was built in a Pine Forest [so only 1 R]. They say "The pines were very thick and the ground was covered with Pine Needles." There are still some of the pines like this on the south end of town, down Main Street/501.
