Yesterday, I believe it was, the Clarion Ledger had an article on a kid who plays trombone who became the first instrumentalist in 14 YEARS from the Jackson Public School System to make Lions' Band! I thought, "My stars, what a crappy music program they must have!" We had two or three a YEAR who made it and it wasn't because it was easier then, either. Congratulations, kid - you rose above!
