When my Daddy had a heart attack, he didn’t want anyone but Mart to do his surgery. When Mart was in high school, Daddy worked for Mart’s Daddy at the Ford dealership and they became good friends.

Any time after that when Daddy was in the hospital for whatever reason, I would leave a note for Mart at the nurse’s station, and he would come visit Daddy everyday he was in the hospital. When Daddy died, I sent Mart a note thanking him & telling him how much those visits meant to Daddy.

He was a good heart doctor with a heart of gold.
