I found two pieces that Mrs Hays wrote to me from her own memory. One was from the Sanskrit. "The Salutation to the Dawn" and the other from Oxenham, "to every man there openeth..." I remember Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. I don't know if will study these pieces enough to recite them. I started thinking about this memory work as i have been walking to rehab a knee and hip replacement. To keep my mind going as I walk, I've bee singing the National Anthem (to myself). So I thought maybe there are some other things I can recite as I go through my exercise. Noble Lee has spoken to the Forest Rotary Club over the years and would often end his talk with a memorized poem or two.. I've always been amazed at how easily those words came from him. So here's to trying!!! Maybe I should call Noble!!!
