Re: SNOW"
When we have snow, I often remember the day in January of 1960,if memory serves. We had a pretty good snowfall, and it started in the afternoon. I was riding my horse in the woods, NW of Forest, between the end of Townsend Road and Ellis Sparks's place. Well, it started, seems like about mid afternoon. I thought it was pretty cool. I mean, how often did we ever get to ride a horse in the woods during a snowfall growing up in Forest? The whole thing was just magical. But real quick, the woods started to look quite different. Seems like it just took minutes and everything looked just like everything else. I was instantly lost! I turned the horse toward what I thought was home and let her have her head. And she got us home! You know ... I have often wondered if that horse really knew where home was, or if she was just as lost as I was but wouldn't let on!
