A man who was chief of detectives at Pearl when Tobe was on the police department posted this tonight, and the mayor reposted it, so it isn't confidential information. Tobe actually graduated from Brandon, I believe, but we, of course, not only remember him but his sister, Ann, as well, of the class of 1963. Here is the post.
Friends I’m afraid I have some really disturbing news. Our fellow officer, Lt. Tobe Ivy, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Tobe is not a candidate for stem cell replacement and will begin chemotherapy on Monday. Tobe has been having mobility issues for the better part of a year now. He’s pretty much house bound. He’s already heavily medicated and is severely fatigued. Add that to his upcoming chemo treatments and you can easily see that he has a tuff road ahead. I know all of you will be wanting to touch base with him to express your concern and express your thoughts on his behalf. Let me suggest you do this by mail so as to not over tax his strength etc... His home address is 126 Pine Hill Cove, Pearl, MS 39208. I’m sure you all agree that Tobe is so much more to us all than just a coworker. Before you go 10-7 tonight please ask God to back him up on this difficult call. Hang tuff J1.

I remember Toby as my classmate Ann’s little brother. So sorry that he has this challenge ahead. Praying for strength and success for upcoming treatments.
