A great time was had by all this weekend in Forest. Now, big- time reminder. The class of 1962 is having a reunion on October 15 at Doug Courtney's place just north of town. This is our 60th anniversary . We hope ALL will want to be there! It will be just us for a quiet afternoon and dinner together. Please help us get the word out. Those who are members of the class, tell others and encourage them to come. Those who are NOT, you know some who are. So ditto - encourage them to come, also. You only get one chance at a 60 anniversary of anything, and the likelihood is that some of us won't be around for a 65th. So come and share one more time with us!
I had to go to a funeral last week in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Nancy's brother, James Murray Underwood was also there. Murray and I had a good visit together, although a little sad. Murray says that Nancy is not doing very good. Murray said that Nancy had a bad bout with Covid but is now Covid free. But Nancy now has lingering side effects and physical limitations from the Covid virus. Murray said that Nancy has to use a walker just to get around her home in Tupelo where she lives. Thankfully, Nancy's only daughter, Melissa is living with her Mother full time, which is truly a blessing. Most everybody knows that Nancy married her fellow 1962 classmate, Sonny King. Sadly, Sonny left us several years ago. Long, long ago and far, far away in that wonderful year of 1962, Nancy was a extraordinarily beautiful young lady - Most Beautiful in 1962 at Forest High. But that was then and this is now. So please give Nancy and Melissa your love, support and prayers.
Mark, thank you for sharing this. I had asked about her Saturday. I am so sorry to learn that she isn't well. I played oboe with her for a couple of years back in the day. I loved my seating at the time - between Nancy Underwood and Ruth Ellen Ezelle. Couldn't have been better!

I’m so sad to hear of Nancy’s health issues. I pray that she will be healed from the health problems that Covid left her with. Nancy is as sweet as she is beautiful. She and Sonny brought her mom, Mrs. Ida Mae, to visit my mom here in Pontotoc when they found out that Mother was living close to Tupelo. That gesture meant a lot to us all.
