Prayers for John Allen Roby

One of our most loyal Bearcats, John Roby, suffered a serious fall last night. He was taken by ambulance to UMMC with numerous injuries. Please be in prayer today for both John and wife Ann as his medical team assess the next step.
John never missed an opportunity to gather and support Bearcats.

Just talked to John Allen! He has been moved to Methodist Rehab in Jackson. He sounded great but says getting up and down from chair to bed is no fun! He is supposed to do about three hours of PT everyday. Appetite could be better, but he will not turn down a chocolate milkshake!! He thanks you for well wishes and reads them all! Just hearing his voice stronger made ME feel better!!!

Spoke to John this morning. He has been moved to Wisteria Gardens in Pearl. He likes it there and is continuing to heal and rehab. This morning he was dressed and ready to be transported to his doctor’s appt back at UMMC. He still has considerable amount of pain but is making progress.

I am just now seeing this news about John Allen….one of the finest men from Forest. I pray that he continues to heal and has full recovery. John has so many friends, and I am sure we are all keeping him and Ann in our prayers and thoughts.

John’s daughter Jana responded to my text that John had surgery on his hip and is doing well.

I am so glad John is doing better and came through surgery. They are a good group at UMMC.

I worked with John back in the early 70s. Prayers for him and his family.

I hate to hear this. John called me for my birthday on September 7 and we talked for almost an hour. He was telling me about the trip he and Ann have planned for October. Prayers for John and Ann and his girls.

Wishing a speedy recovery to one of Forest's most loyal residents and supporter. I always looked forward to seeing and talking with John Allen during my visits to Forest.

John Allen , none no better. Worked with John for years at McCarty Farms. Praying for my friend and his family

Any recent reports on how John is doing? I always enjoy visiting with him at the FHS gatherings.

He is still in Methodist Rehab in Jackson right now and might move to Wisteria Gardens in Pearl later this week. I’ve talked to him a couple times and he sounds better than I expected with all the injuries he had. He undergoes a lot of PT every day which is challenging. I think the main thing right now is working on mobility. Pretty sure he keeps the nurses in stitches and tries to talk them out of the hard stuff. Long road ahead but day by day he makes a little progress.
