Re: Weekly Find"
I have found a few glasses, been looking more than I was before - a couple 1978 Star Trek McCoy glasses at an antique mall for reasonable prices, a Snoopy sports Baseball and interesting Mickey Mouse plastic thermoinsulated cup (for my own collection) at a garage sale, $2 each. Found a Houchen's Coke glass at a garage sale for 10 cents, and this weekend an old etched shot glass from a pharmacy for 10 cents - and a glass I cannot figure out - it is kind of "orange" tinged colored glass, has in orange big letters on both sides, "try it you'll like it!" which sounds like a saying I have heard before, but not sure which soda or product it is from. Probably the most interesting glass was a double color block tall size Disney glass with Donald Duck and Daisy Duck on orange color block, and it had a metal lid still on the glass, Kroger Peanut Butter - these glasses are found all across the country (I think) so perhaps various groceries had the Peanut Butter company use their grocery lid in their area. I had not ever seen this lid, or known what product came in the glass. I will try to get a picture sometime into CGN. I wanted to do an article on lids, but have not had much input, apart from a few lids and info from Matt M.
