Well, the Memorial Day weekend brought a ton of yard sales and the flea market was jumping too. I've hit a point where I have a lot of glasses. Big surprise, right? So I find myself passing on stuff because I don't need doubles (or triples or quads or whatever). I saw a lot of McD stuff and passed. I saw some Rescuer's (including a Madame Medusa) for $5, but passed. Hopefully someone else finds them and gets into the hobby. I did pick up a set of Muppet Caper glasses to throw on eBay because they were a quarter each, and I still have trouble passing up quarter glasses. I also picked up a Dorney Park beer mug for a quarter. Dorney Park is a well known amusement park that is close to me. I have a bunch of the mugs, but, again, it was a quarter. I'll always pick up a glass I don't have, but my days of picking up doubles is done for a while.
I've been going through the storage boxes and bins, and I've come up with over 200 doubles of glasses I didn't know were doubles. That is on top of the 800 or so other known duplicates I have. Once I get a better handle on what I have and what I'm missing, I'm going to post a list and see if anyone is interested in trading glasses, swaps for glasses with in a similar value range, so that I can fill in some of the holes in my collection, and that others can fill in holes in theirs. Hopefully a few people will be interested, and the most we'd have to invest is some shipping costs each way. I'm thinking sometime in July until I have stuff ready. Before I get that involved, would people be interested in that? It would be great to have a big on-line club swap meet.
