The old Collector Glass News newsletter, before it was adopted by the PGCA, had an auction, so when the club agreed with the CGN owners to take over CGN as the club newsletter, we were fortunate that the Sehnert's started an auction site that club members and other's could use for their glass collecting.
From what I recollect from the glassnert.com web site, if a glass had a certain price then you could put in an "ebay style" proxy type bid. This is what the auction site has on their rules page ...
We will allow proxy or "bid up to's" on items with a bid of at least $50.
...
but to confirm how that works you would contact the auction site at http://www.glassnertauction.com
I can say without hesitation that this auction is well run, they know what a good glass looks like and describe the glasses correctly and note any flaws, and I am always happy with the glasses I get from the auction, and have been pleased with the results when I have been a consigner. They do a great job - I just got a box with some neat glasses from the latest auction.
