Auction #130 will close on April 15 at 11 PM Central Time. As always items receiving bids after 10:45 PM will remain open until they go 15 minutes without a bid. Which clearly means that the auction on those items will remain open well after 11 PM as long as they’re getting bids.
Now that Mary has retired we are planning to increase the frequency of our auctions up from four per year to as many as six. We are looking for people to cosign glasses to the auction however we are no longer purchasing collections or glasses to put in the auction. We will continue to hold auctions until such time as we no longer have quality glasses to make the auction that our bidders would be interested in.
This auction is different than our normal auctions in that 95% of the glasses listed all our own by one person. We have not use this approach before but this is a unique situation from a collector that had a very nice and very clean, excellent condition collection.
In special offerings we are only offering three glasses and all three are prototypes/salesman samples. The first is a glass from the movie Gone with the Wind. The front shows a poster from that movie as well as the major actors names in the movie. The back has a detailed and interesting story as well as information about the book by Margaret Mitchell. The other two glasses have the same artwork of a Loon in a wildlife setting. The difference in these two glasses come in the Coca-Cola logos or in this case Coke logos. The one glass has a Enjoy Coke logo on the side of the glass while the other glass has an Enjoy Coke wave logo on the back side of the glass. Both logos are done in gold. Very clearly showing that these are test/prototype glasses.
We thank you for your continued support of our auctions and always welcome your comments, suggestions and even criticism as long as it is constructive.
