Some guys can think fast on their feet, where other guys can not. Kizer and Hundley are two great examples of the latter. They may possess the arm and the physicality to become a prospect, but the fast decisions necessary to play that position well are more important than the physical attributes.
I just really don't want to suffer through another 6-10 year, and if Rodgers were to be injured again, I am afraid that is the ceiling with the back up QB that are currently on the roster. That falls on Gute. Three losing seasons in a row would be a horrible start to his GM career, especially considering he has Aaron Rodgers under center to start those seasons.
You know how you talk about competition at every position, well there is no competition at the QB position.
