Pretty sure I remember the Jets management talking about trying to recruit and excite Favre and even tried to get him excited about hunting areas around the NJ area.

If you don't think players making the huge bucks don't have any say, then you're crazy... teams (at least teams with any sense) aren't going to bring in those mega contracts without said person wanting to be there.
