Maybe you are talking about the dead cap space bill, yes that's due regardless.
But there is an additional $59.5 bill on top of that that will be due if he doesn't retire and whomever is holding his contract has to pay it, that is not due regardless.
Just to be clear, I'm in no way saying the Packers are right or wrong about holding their ground because I have absolutely no idea what's being offered.
If it's 4th round like Favre, absolutely hold your ground. It's it more than two 1dt round picks, what are you doing? Take it and run... But it's probably in-between and I have no idea where.
I'm just saying, the Packers don't want to be holding that contract come week 1 and owing Rodgers an additional $60 million especially if he's the backup as they're trying to let Love take over.
