That being said, unless Stafford agrees to rework his contract (very soon) then his contract is much harder to trade unless the Rams just decide to absolutely tank this year.
Stafford has a optional bonus (like Rodgers) that must be decided on by 3/17/23 (tomorrow) where Rodgers optional bonus can go all the way to week 1.
So if some adjustment is not made to the contract (very soon), the Rams will be on the hook for $26 million more for Stafford. Rams would just have to eat that and his new team would get Stafford for $1.5 million in 2023.
Of course the Rams could still trade him, but they would basically be clearly tanking for 2023, and the Rams would want at least a 1st (probably much more) because they'd be paying for Stafford to play for someone else.
So all depends if Rams want to trade him and if Stafford would work with them to adjust his contract.
