Not too long ago many peeps were absolutely okay with Rodgers and Love being with the packers in 2023. As well lots of peeps didn’t think Love would be upset and there would be no problem with him being backup again in 2023.
Now all sudden peeps are claiming the packers can’t possibly keep both QBs. Ummm what!?
- so now all sudden the packers have to get rid of Rodgers for peanuts. Packers Money doesn’t matter as much as some are trying to make an excuse for.
Rodgers is still a stud., and the Packers bottom line won’t change from paying Rodgers or not paying him.
In fact because of Rodgers the packers bottom line is probably much better off than it would be without him the last 18 years. Maybe not by much, packer fans are extremely loyal. Anyways so what you pay him extra money, for playing 2023 in a packer uniform., who cares.
- Collectively Packer Fans Were Okay Paying Rodgers in 2023 at end of 2022 Season. So the money excuse to me is garbage.
Next Excuse -
Murphy said he doesn’t want Rodgers.
This is a fabricated excuse!!
Murphy didn’t say he didn’t want Rodgers, he indicated he was ready to see Love be the starter but is fully prepared to start Rodgers if need be.
Okay so what excuses do we have left to trade Rodgers to jets for a 3rd Round draft pick? Other than helping Jets and Rodgers out.
- Which I have stated before. Only reason to trade Rodgers quickly to jets is do right by Rodgers. It’s a fair thought, but this is a business, the jets already robbed the Packers with Favre, and let’s not forget Rodgers tried to jettison Gute.
It’s not the packers fault the jets didn’t know how to get the most out of Favre, he ended up playing two more seasons. The jets really should have had Favre for 3 seasons. And one of those seasons he played out of his mind amazing. The jets only paid a 3rd rounder for three seasons of Favre. CHEAP.
Packers refusing to do that aging, is really nice to see. Rodgers could easily play the next 3 seasons., maybe only one, but he could easily play more.
We have no reason to trade Rodgers for cheap, when we traded Favre we had reason, he retired and came back.
If Rodgers retires and came back than yes by all means let’s trade Rodgers a day before week 1 for anything we can get to any team but the jets, make them regret not finding a way to get Rodgers. I’m sure we could find one team to take Rodgers for a 5th round pick right before the season with his low cap number. It’s a slight risk, but who cares, make the jets worry about it. In regards to Rodgers coming back after retiring before season starts and causing awkwardness., Easy fix, tell him to stay home. Just like the Texans did with Watson. Who cares, if Rodgers wants to play mind games, the packers can too.
Back to the Jets., if they want to keep that 1st rounder., great., since they’re so good at drafting QBs, If they need their first rounder than they can go ahead and draft a rookie QB. As well they can go ahead and pray their defense doesn’t fall apart by the time their rookie QB becomes Rodgers like.
There is no reason to help the jets out again.
If they want Rodgers they can give up whatever the packers want. I’m extremely hopeful that is #13 and a conditional first rounder If Rodgers plays 2024 (no matter what if it’s with jets or not). You know just in case the jets stupidly cut Rodgers free like they did Favre. The jets screwed the Packers by letting Favre get to the Vikings. Can we not forget about that please!
Off topic -
The jets can go ahead and keep Davis.
Why would the packers take on 10 million cap hit when they could have had Lazard at 11 million. They don’t want either of them for the amount of money their contracts are for.
The packers shouldn’t be trading any draft picks back to the jets in trade scenarios. They developed Rodgers if he’s not going to retire then a team with Super Bowl aspirations should pay up to have him. If they need a QB immediately before their defense falls apart then yeah a player like Rodgers isn’t cheap. He’s light years the best possible (available) QB of 2023 a team could acquire. It shouldn’t be cheap.
The Jets think they’re just going to walk away with Rodgers for a third rounder. Um guess again, you can give up a haul for him or you can find another way to be a Super Bowl team in 2023.
The packers shouldn’t be fearful to start Rodgers and convince Love everything will be okay, lots of peeps were perfectly okay with this idea before so let’s stick with it.
Lastly Rodgers
So you were 90% going to retire but since the packers are okay with starting Love now you want to stick it to the packers and be traded for cheap to the jets.
That’s hilarious. Guess what Rodgers If all the packers going to get is a 3rd round pick, go ahead and retire. We have a 3rd round pick already and if the packers really need to trade back into the 3rd Round they’ll find a way, without helping you make Gute look bad.
If you want the packers to trade you maybe you should call up your new team and ask them why they don’t think you’re worth a first round pick, just a thought.
