I think the important message was at the end, without a clear future hall of Fame QB running it, they could use better blocking, but that's a message before FA and the Draft.
Also, I think it would be extremely interesting to know, if some of the items Wahle was complaining about, he was stating that some people teach that, it would be interesting if the Packers coaches teach that or not.
But both Tom and Nijman have some improvement that could be made, starting with their stances NOT giving away of it's a run or pass, this is especially true of the Packers are going to more play action.
And Tom needs to stop flaring that foot out there, and Nijman probably just need to scrap his run play stances all together.
Tom clearly wins in the mobile get to the second level battle, but he CLEARLY needs to get stronger, but we knew that before his draft.
Nijman seems to almost rely on his long arms too much, seems to accept a draw and now even trying to win certain reps if he thinks the ball is going to be out quickly (which if he's right, no problem, but what if his assumption is wrong?)plays don't always happen as you draw them up, and Nijman willing to take a draw help the defense if the Packers offensive has to go off script. Also, he doesn't seem to want to really push the defender around... just neutralize them from the ball (which is what is needed bare minimum wise) but Nijman doesn't want to dominate his guy... which I get it, that's was probably true with myself as well... but with that attitude, I don't think you'll ever get the most of of your potential on the football field.
I was already rooting for Tom, so maybe I'm biased. But even more so, as I feel like his errors were mainly lack of strength (hopefully off-season work can correct that) and his stances were clearly tipping if it was a run or pass... and maybe not being perfect in knowing if a defender lines up very tight to you, what are the different options, but they were bouncing him around at multiple positions, and he was a rookie, so maybe after staying in one spot he'll pick more of that up.
