This is a perfect example of what I see too much of with Barry. I can't see how you can look at this defensive scheme/play call, at the 2 yard line, and say "Yeah, that makes perfect sense!"
You might as well just call the Holmgren 1997 Super Bowl "Let Them Score" play - you'd have as much chance of stopping it.
And whether it's on the goal line, or it's on 3rd down, there are just too many plays where, based on the formation the defense lines up in, you know for 100% certainty that the opponent is going to have a way-too-easy time scoring, picking up the first down, or whatever.
This isn't to say that the talent level isn't an issue - I agree with that. But I don't care if you had the 1996 or 2010 defensive players - you line up in this formation on the 2 yard line, and it's an easy TD.
Barry needs to go. And that's not to say another coordinator could come in with this same group of players and they'd become a top-5 defense. But Barry needs to go.
