It depends on how much do they trust the rookie.

Like say, the rookie doesn't know the playbook enough yet, you don't nessarily risk others (especially if it's a blocking role) just to get them on the field.


But generally speaking, I think we're playing for the future. If this team could make a run in the playoffs they'd be lucky as hell. So I would go with getting more/younger guys involved.


Which is why I was happy with getting more of the backups TEs involved once Musgrave got the concussion. Including Dugara, but especially the rookies. But not sure if they trust the rookies (Kraft and Sims) enough for a complex role, but they'll slowly getting more and more in simple roles.
