Draft is heavy in defensive ACC players, which Boston College is in the ACC.
1.28 LT Jordan Morgan, Arizona
The Packers NEED to protect their backfield with Love and Jones, they got young weapons, but need to make sure they got the protection and Morgan is considered the best LT available and should compete for a starting spot and loser becomes the swing OT backup.
2.48 S Tyler Nubin, Minnesota
All around solid Safety with the best instincts in the draft and has no true weakness, but might not be the most athletic but make the least mistakes.
2.57 FS Kamren Kinchins, Miami
Some say Kinchins is the most athletic Safety in the draft and if you're looking for highest pure potential then he truly is your guy as he could become a great FS. But the issue is that he's not there yet, while extremely athletic, he doesn't take the best angles in pursuit and despite 3+ years in starting and being extremely athletic, only has one year above 70 grade by PFF standards, with 65 being average. But that one year, absolutely amazing at 90 grade. But can you teach him to be consistent? I think it's worth the risk.
3.88 RB Trey Benson, Florida State
In 2022 he went on an absolutely crazy breaking tackles streak. While he didn't follow up at the same level in 2023 the 6'1" 225lb RB is still extremely versatile and extremely good at everything but great at no one thing but the wide zone scheme demands versatility.
3.91 CB Jarrian Jones, Florida State
Was an outside CB for most of his career, but switched to slot.CB and was absolutely great at it, at least in man coverage this final year. Also 6' tall, though he's a bit light in the weight, I think most slot guys will be.
4.114 RB Ray Davis, Kentucky
5'8½" 217lb Davis is short but very compact. Like most compact guys he's not a speed demon, but he's got very good quickness for his weight. Make plays in the passing game and has some decent power, had a lot of success in the SEC while on both Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Also Aaron Jones will be happy that he's no longer the shortest guy on the team lol
4.125 OL Blake Fisher, Notre Dame
Fisher has been a two year starter at RT, but I'm not sure he's athletic enough to start there in the pros, but that's alright, as my plan is to kick him into RG anyways. At almost 6'6", he is a bit tall for OG, but he's got very good technic and I believe he'll be able to adjust. My bigger concern is simply he needs more power, he's clearly got the frame to do it, but why doesn't he already have more power? But maybe focusing on school and pass blocking. But I think he has the potential even if he's not quite ready in year 1.
4.128 DT Tyler Davis, Clemson
Run defense, run defense, run defense. If you're taking Tyler Davis, it's for his run defense, he might only be 6'2" 300lbs, but you aren't moving him easily. Good quickness, powerful hands, all power game.
5.162 LB James Williams, Miami
Williams has been a 2 year starter at SS for Miami, but he's 6'4" 230lbs and I believe was moved to LB at the Senior Bowl. Williams is the classic run and chase RB, want to keep the ball in front of him and he'll quickly make the tackle, but need to keep OL off of him, as he does NOT have power for a LB. But he should be able to cover TEs.
6.195 Edge Jasheen Davis, Wake Forest
At 6'3" 260lbs, Davis is a heavy speed rusher, with some decent power for a speed rusher. Maybe lacks that first elite initial quickness but gets up to speed fairly fast and Packers don't have many speed edge guys, they usually go for power/size but Davis is the 260lb and has some power. Davis only has about 1.5 years as a starter. Also Packers Edge Enagbare got an ACL injury very late in the season, so potential he could miss the start of the 2024 season.
6.203 CB Marcellas Dial, South Carolina
Three year starter, but two of those years where sub average graded. But the final year was very very good. Smaller than Gute would prefer at 5'11" 190lbs, but his final year he looked very well rounded in man and zone coverage and run defense, looking like he's not elite nor weak in any one area.
6.217 LB Darius Muasau, UCLA
3 year starter, Blake Martinez clone, except Muasau is two inches shorter but same weight, and a bit more power than I remember from Martinez. Though since he's almost 6' he might be too short for Gute. But looks very good in zone coverage.
6.219 OT Donovan Jennings, USF
Basically a 5 year starter, though missed some games due to injuries, started all of 2023. Due to his body size/type, 6'4" 330lb people want to move him to OG, but watching him play, I think he's a backup OT, maybe ask/demand that he loses 20lbs or turn it into more muscle, but I think he could become a decent swing backup.
7.246 G/C Tanor Bortolini, Wisconsin
Bortolini went from backup RT, to starter OG (played both sides), then starting Center and unfortunately he seemed to grade worse each season. That being said, he did very very well in pass protection, just he was horrible run blocking. Pass heavy teams can work with that, especially for a backup. And Packers can get a backup IOL that can always protect the QB, even if he can't make any room for the RB.
