Clark will be 29 next offseason, turning 30 in October. He has $21M in void year money spread across three seasons, which means the Packers should be incentivized to resign him and make that accounting a bit more palatable. In other words, that gives Clark the leverage. Clark is entering a contract season, moving into a system that presumably will have greater emphasis on pass rush. So Clark could be in for a career year.
He's played 2,400 snaps over the last 4 years, 6th most among IDL. He's been shockingly durable so wouldn't be surprised if he adds another 800 snaps this year.
But this offseason alone, Chris Jones just got $31.75M AAV, Christian Wilkins got $27.5M, Justin Madabuike got $24.5M. Those are the three highest IDL AAVs in the league, breaking previous records set LAST offseason by Quinnen Williams, Jeffery Simmons, Daron Payne, and Dexter Lawrence.
So if the Packers want to keep Clark, his asking price probably STARTS at $25M.
Given the number of guys who are going to need new contracts AFTER 2025, I'd be shocked if the Packers pay that much for a guy entering his age 30 season.
