Also, I don't dislike Edgerrin Cooper, but I agree with your point that his skill set or notch that he's absolutely great at, is limited. Basically playing back in a zone and watching the QB and then when he sees it, exploding out of his stance and getting to the receiver about the same exact time the ball gets there. He's absolutely great at it... but that's just one thing. What about all the other things LBers do?
It's just not shown in his highlight tapes... so either the scheme didn't ask him to do it, or it wasn't a highlight. But you need more versatile guys.
Also, you talking about the LBer we need, most.of the better LBers in this draft seem to be the Walker type more so than the instinctive MLB that we need.
