Though the only other news is that Commanders Jason Wright was also a finalist, which I know most of it was probably Dan Snyder fault, but I don't want anyone from the Commanders being in charge. Though looking at Wright career notes, he's got some very interesting awards and such.
Also, interesting to note, that Wright and Mark Murphy were both at North Western at the same time.
As for Ed Policy, I know nothing about him other than his name is boring to me lol. He's the former Deputy Commissioner and President of the Arena Football League (2001–2008), which is interesting. Lawyer and worked on the Packers titletown district, the draft and LaFleaur's contract, which honestly doesn't tell me much, as how detailed he was or wasn't involved.
As far as Policy's Dad, Carmen Policy, he seems to be very trusted, but also didn't seem to have much success after the 49ers.
The 49ers boomed with him in the 90s but then it ended due to "mistrust and front-office power plays".
In 1994 (while still with the 49ers), he along with some owners were asked to "negotiate on behalf of the NFL" for the Los Angeles Raiders to play in a proposed stadium in Hollywood Park, Los Angeles, which fell throw and they moved back to Oakland.
After the 49ers, he then joined the new Browns (the original Browns moved to Baltimore), which other than the name and records, the Browns were literally starting from starch and they did absolutely horrible.
In 2015 Chargers and Raiders hired him to lead the building a new stadium, which never happened... though it needs to note it might not of ever had a chance, as it seems Rams owner Stan Kroenke got Jerry Jones and Roger Goodell on board with his lying to get out of St. Louis and to Los Angeles. Which cost all 31 other teams about 10 million each, which the Rams were in theory support to repaid, but they found a loophole and don't have to (or the NFL isn't forcing the issue).
In 2019, the NFL got him involved in the Broncos ownership dispute, of what happens with Pat Bowlen ownership now that he has past, and that seemed to get UGLY! And basically they ended up selling the team and NFL created new policies that all teams must have contingency plans in place and approved by the NFL, including whom the future shot caller is.
But my point is, that clearly Carmen Policy was extremely trusted in NFL circles, but after the 49ers, I don't see many clear wins here.
