Jaylin Smith is a cornerback with average size and length, with versatility at box SAF, free SAF, slot corner, and outside corner. Fluid hips with good transitions and the ability to stick with receivers in and out of breaks. Efficient mover with good footwork and the ability to match receivers off the line and downfield. Well below-average on-ball production. Only four career pass breakups. Not a dominant player at the catch point. An effective blitzer who can put pressure on the quarterback. Good read and react ability to make plays around the line of scrimmage. Very good run defender and open-field tackler.
