It most likely means no one is that interested in signing Simmons and Packers are considering him only because he's cheap...

Simmons might of been the 8th overall pick with the hopes that he could be a do it all S/LB... but the reality has been that he hasn't been physically enough for LB and his coverage hasn't been good enough for DB.


Simmons best role seems to be a dime LB, basically a coverage LB that is less likely to have the ball run in his direction.

Hafley seems to really like Nickel and Dime players, and Gute doesn't seem to like short, so Simmons at 6'4" 240lb is a good mixture.


Probably competing for the final ST spots at ILB.
