Besides the athletic upside, you also have to consider the scheme. Texas A&M asks their DL to collapse the pocket, maintain lanes, and let their LBs do the work.
Nick Scornton was a HIGH upside player at Purdue. He transfers to A&M and his productivity tanked. Walter Nolan was a decent player for two years at A&M, transfers out to Ole Miss, and now he might go top 15.
Shemar could have all the potential in the world but if A&M didn't ask him to rush the passer, you're never going to see his ability to rush the passer. There's a reason he played around 280-290 at A&M but showed up at the combine under 270.
I'm not saying I want Shemar because I too have concerns about the bust potential, but it's a tough eval to make.
