Much less give up a good starting player...
But I don't pay attention to AFC as much, according to PFF Trey Hendrickson has been a great pass rusher but a below average run defender. But last year he picked his run defense up to be average.
My questions are, what is the new scheme Hafley running this year and how would the parts fit in.
I assume currently Gary would be the Edge #1 ... and I'm guessing Hafley wants a power Edge/DT tweener for #2, if he's going to run the system that I think he's hinting at.
If so, Gary would have to move over to the power role and Hendrickson into the Edge #1 role, as I don't think Hendrickson has the power to play the other role.
But a guy that has been playing 50% of his games over the past 4 years or a guy who's played 100% ... it's kind of a no brainer.
